Question:
My iPod shows "No Music" after using it with JakPod, but the latter shows that all tracks are actually available. iTunes recommends to restore the iPod. How can I fix this?

Answer:
More recent versions of the iPod (Classic, Nano 3G and newer) "protect" their iTunesDB using a hash key, which is derived from the iPod's "FirewireGuid" and its contents (using some Black Magic). JakPod supports these iPods, but you have to "prepare" them for usage (once). Please take a look at this FAQ.

If the iPod was not prepared to work with JakPod, it won't show any tracks after JakPod operated on it. No worries! Look into the FAQ mentioned above and "prepare" your iPod. Then start JakPod (which will still show all tracks, just as it did before), click into the window showing the contents of your iPod (to focus it) and press CTRL+S. Now the database will be written with the correct hash value and your iPod will happily show all the tracks stored on it (and iTunes won't complain either).
